The Trip:
As I mentioned in my introduction, this is the second installment of five reports that
document some of the carnivorous plant highlights
from a September 2007 trip my wife (Beth) and I took to Australia.
Western Australia is an enormous state. We visited the southwestern portion of the state--Perth and regions southwards.
This is a region of enormous diversity in
Drosera, especially the pygmy and tuberous forms. If you didn't know,
there are three main kinds of tuberous sundews--erect/scramblers, fanleafed, and rosetted species. We had all on our agendum.
Astonishingly, this trip report focuses on three sites we visited all in one day! The previous trip report ended with us
being tourists in the "Red Centre" of the continent, so that is where I will resume...Uluru.
