Venturing into the clearing, I started seeming the same species we had been seeing earlier: Drosera menziesii, D. macrantha, D. glanduligera, and D. rosulata. Interestingly, a number of the D. rosulata rosettes showed foliar damage from some kind of herbivore. You can see above what they looked like.

Here is another rosette that shows only a little of the damage. (Incidentally, several days later I was in the field with Allen Lowrie, and he said this damage was caused by non-native larval cabbage white butterflies; perhaps this is the same as the USA non-native butterfly called a cabbage white; Artogeia rapae?)
