The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Western Australia in 2007

Return to the Trip Overview

Inflorescence:
I slowly started up the hill after Phill and Dave. The hillside was peppered with carnivorous plants. This is a nice inflorescence of the orange-flowered D. glanduligera. In the plant kingdom, orange is relatively rare as a flower color, and carnivorous plants are no exception in this regard.

Off in the distance I heard Phill's patient but exasperated voice telling me to climb up the slope to join him and Dave. What could it be that they were so excited about? I mean, really?! I already had several nice carnivorous plants right in front of me! But I decided to follow them, partly to see what they were so insistent about, but mostly to humor them.
