Big petals:
Here is a closer view of the flower. The petals are large and floppy, and in the mild wind they constantly fluttered,
frustrating my attempts to capture what I wanted in my images. This is my favorite of the lot.
Drosera menziesii has an overall reddish color to the foliage, which I learned was a
character helpful in identifying it as I walked in the brush. In fact, as we became outrageously
spoiled over the next few days, we became accustomed to referring to this common plant as
"just menziesii"
when we would find it.
