Big pygmies:
The first site of the day, and the first new species of the day! This is, of course,
Drosera scorpioides, a little tattered, possibly because it had been putting so much energy into
flowering.
This site was about 20 km northeast from where we had spent the night, and was right along the side of the road in a light forest.
Australian roads are usually
pretty clean of trash, at least cleaner than roads in the USA, but there were still a few chunks of crap here and there that soiled the
view.
Even though this plant is a bit past its prime and also little rain-soaked, aren't those long delicate tentacles pretty? It is
a pity that none of the flowers were open, probably because the skies were grey and rainy.
