The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Western Australia in 2007

Return to the Trip Overview

Round leaves:
This is an interesting specimen. Its leaves are all practically round and the glandular distribution is not as uniform, which makes this specimen look very much like Drosera erythrorhiza subsp. erythrorhiza. Probably people like Phill with real field experience would see this right away as being subsp. collina, but to my eyes I couldn't be sure. Maybe both subspecies occur at this site? An unlikely proposition--probably this is just a young plant that is not showing off its true characteristics yet.
