announced from the hillside above us that he had found Drosera erythrorhiza subsp.
collina! This interesting subspecies is characterized by having a variety of leaf shapes on the plant,
instead of the single shape you would expect to see on
D. erythrorhiza subsp. erythrorhiza.
Here is another nice specimen with similar coloration. It is interesting how the
glands of this subspecies occur on so much of the leaf surface, in contrast with the gland distribution on
D. erythrorhiza subsp. squamosa.
